Deep Layer is the second full length album from Melt.
As with his debut, 'Theta Waves' (out through Whalesmouth), Jordan Rodger recorded an improvised guitar track. This track was then kept whole and used as the building block for the album as percussion, bass and other bits and pieces were added.
Also in line with 'Theta Waves' this album features vocals from guest artists who were given a theme or concept for their writing. For 'Deep Layer' this was the idea of deep ocean life and the unexplored reaches of this vast and alien landscape, despite it being here on earth. The artists are then free to interpret this as they like.
